Water Heaters

Standard Tank Water Heaters (Gas & Electric)

The standard tank water heater is the most common type of residential water heater.  Gas tank water heaters vent through a vertical or upward-sloping metal duct vent to vent exhaust out of the home. Standard tanked electric water heaters do not require an exhaust vent.

Powervent Water Heaters (Gas)

Rather than using a vent made of metal, the powervent water heater's vent is made of white PVC pipe that runs through the middle of your home. Power vent water heaters allow for longer runs on the vent, so you can place the unit virtually anywhere that's most convenient. Power vent water heaters can provide hot water faster than alternative options. They save on energy. Power vent water heaters require less gas to operate and are more energy efficient.

Hybrid/Geothermal Water Heaters

Hybrid water heaters, when used correctly, are incredibly energy efficient– they can save homeowners on water heater costs compared to a standard electric water heater! Hybrid water heaters have a storage tank just like traditional standard tank water heaters. It is the way that the water is heated that makes them unique. The hybrid water heater moves heat from the surrounding air into a converter that uses it to heat the water using a heat pump.  Many electric companies offer rebates for new hybrid water heater installations. The hybrid needs at least 1,000 cubic feet of space in order to work properly- such as a room 10 feet high X 10 feet wide X 10 feet long.

Tankless GAS Water Heaters

The initial cost of a tankless water heater is greater than that of a conventional tanked storage water heater, but tankless water heaters will typically last longer and have lower operating and energy costs, which could offset their higher purchase price. Unlike a conventional water heater, the tankless water heater NEVER runs out of hot water. Most tankless water heaters have a life expectancy of more than 20 years. They also have easily replaceable parts that may extend their life by many more years. In contrast, storage water heaters last 8-10 years. Tankless water heaters do require a yearly maintenance.
